This portfolio was photographed at Longwood Gardens and Library in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, the former estate of Pierre duPont. The ponds are filled with a vast array of flowering plants that are the favorite meal for various insects. Dragonflies hover over these plants and eat holes in their pedals, making them look like they have been hit by a shotgun.
I used these images of the lilies to teach myself how to master the retouching and reconstruction tools in Photoshop. Each image you see took time and patience to “repair” each pedal and leaf.
